The witnesses and juror record books are abstracts of compensation paid to jurors serving on grand and petit juries, and witnesses appearing before grand juries, U.S. District and Circuit Court trials and U.S. Commissioners hearings. Entries include the name of the witness or juror, place of residence, compensation paid, and the judge's certificate of service. Entries through 1889 are for service in the U.S. District Court for the Territory of Dakota, Second Judicial District.
